Census Bureau now hiring for 2010 count

The U.S. Census Bureau is currently hiring census takers who play a role in making sure everyone is counted in the 2010 Census. Census takers are needed to update address lists and conduct interviews with community residents.

Most positions require a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Public transportation may be authorized in certain areas. All census takers must be able to speak English, but bilingual skills in English and other languages will also be needed.

Positions available include Census takers, crew leaders, crew leader assistants, recruiting assistants and Census clerks. Census employees get paid weekly, can work flexible hours, receive paid training and receive reimbursement for authorized mileage and other work-related expenses.

Census takers must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years of age. For more information, call 1-866-861-2010, or visit www.2010censusjobs.gov.
