| Award-winning quartet to perform at Magnolia Stroll & Market Day |
|
The Statesmen Quartet will be performing at the Magnolia Stroll & Market Day on Saturday, April 24. The quartet is part of the award-winning Statesmen Barbershop Chorus of Spring. This award-winning group brought home a Southeast Division Chorus Championship in their category just last month, under the direction of Janet Burnet. Established in 1981, The Statesman Barbershop Chorus has a wide following and offers annual performance dates at the Creighton Theater in Conroe. “We were very fortunate to get all the musical groups for this event,” Magnolia Projects and Events Coordinator Katrina Welch said. “The Statesmen have such a following and such a wide appeal to all different age groups. We are really excited they will be performing here in Magnolia.” The Magnolia Stroll & Market Day will take place Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. Musical entertainment along with children’s activities and a variety of food and vendor kiosks will be available to the public. The Stroll is one block west of Magnolia Boulevard (FM 1774) with an entrance at Sullivan Park. Admission to the event is free. Vendors and non-profit organizations wishing to participate in the Magnolia Stroll & Market Day may contact Welch at 281-356-2266, or go by City Hall at 18111 Buddy Riley Blvd.
