Waller Chamber to host candidates forum

The Waller Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum April 22 for the local candidates running for office in the upcoming May 8 election.

The forum will be held at the Waller ISD Boardroom, 2214 Waller Street, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.  Invitations have been extended to the candidates seeking election for City of Waller mayor and the two Waller City Council at large positions.

The candidates for City of Waller Mayor are Danny Marburger and Maurice Hart. In the running for council are Rick Dalton, Sr., Brenda Bundick and Sidney Johnson. A meet and greet with the candidates will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m., with the forum beginning promptly at 7 p.m.

The candidates will each be given an allotted amount of time to speak about themselves, their qualifications and their positions on the issues. They will also be allowed to answer questions from the audience.

“With all of the challenges facing Waller County, with the impending growth in our area, the Waller Area Chamber is excited to provide the public with an opportunity to become more informed in regards to the candidates who want an opportunity to address those challenges,” Trey Duhon, President of the Chamber, said. “This is about information and information is power. Voters need to make informed decisions.”

The public is invited and there is no charge to attend.
