The Magnolia Education Foundation will present a talent show fundraiser, “Magnolia’s Got Talent,” Friday, April 23 at the Magnolia High School Auditorium.
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their talents and have a chance to win cash prizes. There will also be a special People’s Choice Award.
Emceeing the event will be Darby Douglas, a former morning traffic reporter for CBS Channel 11. The judges for the night’s event will include a representative from First Models and Talent Agency, K-Star Radio Station, as well as former Harlem Globetrotter Paul Gaffney.
Tickets will only be available at the door on the day of the event and are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Magnolia High School is located at 14350 FM 1488 in Magnolia. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
“We wanted to provide a platform for our community to showcase their talents while raising money for a very worthy cause,” Rhea Lynn Bagley, President of the Magnolia Education Foundation, said. “It will be an exciting show with comedic monologues, dancing, singing and much more. It will be a great, exciting night that allows people of different levels of ability and creativity to perform for their community while raising funds for a great cause.”
All proceeds benefit the Magnolia Education Foundation. The Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization formed in 2001, with the primary purpose to work together with the school district to ensure student success, giving every child every opportunity providing programs, equipment and technology in the classroom.
With the monies raised, the Foundation provides grants each year to teachers in Magnolia ISD and helps provide funds for the Shattered Lives Program. The Foundation is dependent on community and business support.
