| Lone Star College System to hold job fair to hire instructors |

Lone Star College System (LSCS) is hosting a corporate and continuing education job fair on June 16 at LSC-University Park to help fulfill a need for instructors. The free job fair will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. in the west dining area on the second floor and snacks and drinks will be provided. LSCS hiring managers will be on hand to speak with applicants who are interested in learning about the opportunities to teach in the system. Officials ask those interested to bring a current resume and unofficial transcripts for each degree earned, along with copies of any licenses or certifications that may apply. “We have a huge need for instructors and we encourage those with experience to come out and find out more about Lone Star College and this opportunity,” said Dr. Christina Hinkson, executive director, continuing education at LSCS. Part-time instructors, who are able to earn from $22.30 to $41.50 per hour depending on trade area, are needed at LSCS to teach in a multitude of disciplines. Those areas include health occupations, business, IT and languages and industrial technology. In the health occupations discipline, for example, the instructors/trainers are needed for: certified nurses’ aid training; bachelor of science in nursing; pharmacy tech; and certified EMS coordinator. For business, IT and languages, instructors/trainers are needed for AutoCAD, business communication, English as a second language, languages, Microsoft Office 2007, Oracle DBA, sales, Solidworks, teacher training and time management. In the industrial technology discipline, instructors/trainers are needed for blueprint reading, constructions trades electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics, industrial maintenance and equipment maintenance, inventory control, machining, mechatronics, plant operations, presentation skills, programmable logic control systems, pumps, compressors and mechanical drives, quality control and inspection; safety, statistics, technical writing and welding.
