Tomball PD announces plans for summer outreach program

blue days This week will mark the start of the Tomball Police Department’s annual “Blue Days of Summer” outreach program during which members of the department will visit several Tomball communities to meet with local residents.

According to the department, the program is “designed to expand our community-based policing efforts by visiting with various citizens throughout the City of Tomball. This outreach is designed to build a bridge of open communication with the community as we develop new citizen partnerships and help the department in developing its strategic vision for the future.”

At each stop in the community, the department will set up its mobile command center, serve hot dogs and drinks and offer fingerprint identification kits for local children. Officers will talk with local citizens, take surveys and distribute information about the department, crime prevention and neighborhood-based statistics from past survey results.

Each community visit will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

·         July 13, Country Meadows and Spring Forest

·         July 14, Springwood

·         July 15, Tomball Hills

·         July 20, Sherwood Forest

·         July 21, Tomball Terrace

·         July 22, Pine Meadows
