Entry deadline for Tomball Night Parade nearing

tomball night On Friday, Aug. 6, the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce’s 38th annual Tomball Night will roll out the red carpet for residents and visitors, beginning at 5 p.m. There will be live music, children’s activities, drawings, door prizes, raffles and cash give-aways, along with the popular Parade of Lights down Main Street followed by a fireworks display.

Tomball Night 2010 chairman Mary Harvey, of Granny’s Korner, and her committee have been hard at work to make Tomball Night 2010 a night to remember.

“All things Tomball Night — special retail deals, late night shopping, festival fun and of course the nighttime parade and fireworks — have drawn thousands of people to Tomball Night for more than three decades,” she said. “This is a very special night when Tomball really shines with our own unique brand of hometown hospitality.”

Local businesses will stay open late and offer special sales amid a carnival atmosphere complete with funnel cakes and rides. In addition, Tomball Night patrons who correctly identify one of 10 roaming Mystery Shoppers will receive a $100 bill.

Parade entries for Tomball Night are still available along with sponsorship opportunities. All sponsors of Tomball Night will receive pre and post event publicity, along with other considerations based on the level of sponsorship. Past Tomball Night parades have featured both the unexpected and unusual.

“Last year’s Tomball Night parade was an event of its own,” Harvey said. “It really took on a feel much like Houston’s Art Car Parade or Austin’s 37th Street Christmas lights display—even the lineup was a party. I am looking forward to seeing what amazing entries show up this year. Many are keeping their float plans under wraps until Tomball Night.”

Deadline for sponsorship applications is July 19. Parade and sponsor applications are at the Chamber office, 29201 Quinn Rd., Ste. B, and online. For more information about Tomball Night, call the Greater Tomball Area Chamber at 281-351-7222 or visit TomballChamber.org.
