Montgomery man suspected in two Magnolia copper thefts

copper thief

A Montgomery man was arrested after being caught attempting to steal copper from a business off FM 1488 in Magnolia.

Arthur Leonard Pryor, II of Montgomery, was arrested Aug. 2 after a Pct. 2 Constable’s Office Deputy spotted the man taking copper wire from power supplies behind Spurs Country Western Bar.

Pryor was detained by the deputy, who then notified the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

He was arrested and charged with Theft of Copper Wire, a state jail felony.

Detectives have linked Pryor to another copper wire theft that occurred earlier the same day at a nearby business off FM 1488. As of press time last week, charges were being filed for that crime with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
