Young women between the ages of 15 and 19 who want to compete in the 2011 Miss Tomball Pageant have until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, to drop off applications at the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce offices, located at 29201 Quinn Road.

GTACC Miss Tomball Pageant Chair Sandy Krug said the original deadline of Oct. 8 was extended due to feedback from high school students.

“We had many high school applicants tell us they would not have known to apply had it not been for recent announcements at school,” she said. “So we are extending the deadline to give every junior and senior young woman who wants to participate an opportunity.”

In addition, tickets for the 2011 Miss Tomball Pageant will be available to the public beginning Oct. 19. Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber office. For the second consecutive year the Miss Tomball Pageant will be presented at the Salem Lutheran Church worship center, which offers theatrical lighting and sound along with two on-stage screens.

Tickets are limited for the Nov. 20 pageant and seating is limited to first come, first served. Tickets are $18 each and are available for family and friends of contestants and the general public to attend the 45th edition of this Tomball tradition.
