LSC-Tomball students take part in wetlands clean-up

lsc wetlands Phi Theta Kappa and the Eco Club at Lone Star College-Tomball (LSC-Tomball) recently teamed up for the Wetlands Trail Clean-Up. Twice a year, the two groups pick up debris on the nature trail located on the north side of the campus, behind the Large Animal Facility.

The nature trail leads to the wetlands, which eventually meets Spring Creek. According to biology professor and Eco Club sponsor Marvin Lowery, the students have good reason to take care of the nature trail.

“It’s difficult to find a real nature trail in the city,” Lowery said. “It’s one of the awesome resources we have here at Tomball, and it’s a very valuable resource we have on campus.”

This is the fifth year Phi Theta Kappa and the Eco Club have partnered on this preservation project. The next Wetlands Trail Clean-Up will be held in February or March.
