NAM to host classes on holiday budgeting, legal issues

topics. The first class is “Landlord/Tenant Rights and Responsibilities” and will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The class is presented by the Houston Bar Association.

 

Discussion topics will include:

 

·         review of a Standard Texas Lease Agreement

·         dealing with Health and Safety Issues

·         Who is responsible for security?

·         paying deposits and recovering deposits

 

The second class is “Planning for the Holidays,” which will be held on Thursday,

Dec. 2, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The class will be presented by Money Management International.

 

The holiday season can create an unexpected financial strain for many families. It is easy to underestimate the cost of the holidays and spend more than you want to, or can afford. “Planning for the Holidays” teaches:

 

  • the ABCs of holiday planning;
  • holiday savings tips;
  • alternative gift ideas
  • how to create a personalized holiday planner.

 

 

The third class will address “Identity Theft” and will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This class is also presented by the Houston Bar Association. Discussion topics will include:

 

·         What is identity theft?

·         What should you do if your identity is stolen?

·         How can you fight identity theft?
