MISD announces Rodeo Art winners

hittler art Magnolia ISD held its annual Rodeo Art Show sponsored by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Jan. 14. The School Art Committee judges reviewed all of the district’s artwork entries and selected Best of Show and Gold Medal Award winners for each category. Best of Show Elementary - “Lay in Wait,” by Casen Hutton, Bear Branch Elementary (BBE); Best of Show Junior High - “Old West Wonder,” by Sarah Davis, Bear Branch Junior High (BBJH); Best of Show Senior High - “After the Rain,” by Barry Carter, Magnolia West High School (MWHS); Gold Medal Award Elementary - “What a Life!,” by Caroline Hittler, BBE; Gold Medal Award Junior High - “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” by Avery Wehunt, BBJH; and Gold Medal Award Senior High winners - “Made For Walking,” by Erika Raver, MWHS and “Steer in the Wild,” by Ysaac Bustamante, MWHS.

All of these students will have their artwork on display at Reliant Arena for the duration of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and will be honored at a ceremony on Saturday, March 5. The Senior High School winners will also have the opportunity to have their artwork compete against the artwork of other Houston area winners for a chance to be auctioned in the Rodeo’s School Art Auction.
