Tomball Chamber speaker to address role of HR departments

first friday In business one of the most important assets a company has is its people. But it’s challenging to find hire, maintain, develop and keep employees. That’s why on Friday, March 4 the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) will present Vickie Irvine of PHR-Total Development Partners at its First Friday Networking Luncheon.

Irvine will present, “Maximizing Your Return on Your People Investment: Partnering with HR Makes Dollars and Sense.” The monthly luncheon is open to members, guests and the public from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Elmer L. Beckendorf Conference Center on the Lone Star College – Tomball campus, 30555 Tomball Parkway. Irvine has been in human resources for 15 years working in energy, medical, water and fund raising.

“I'm going to talk about how organizations should embrace the Human Resources function as an integral part of business operations, not a rule-making group to be feared,” Irvine said.

Last fall, Irvine was one of four speakers at the GTACC Small Business Conference. Participants at the conference praised Irvine and her fellow speakers for making business topics clear, fun and interactive.
