Constable’s Office to initiate phone reporting program

Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Ron Hickman announced last week the initiation of the Constable Phone Reporting Program, beginning on April 4. The Constable Phone Reporting Program provides citizens of Pct. 4 with a convenient and reliable service in which to report minor incidents to a law enforcement officer. The program has been developed to increase efficiencies within the department and allow street deputies additional time for proactive patrol and response to more serious incidents.

These incidents may include, but are not limited to, lost property, minor thefts, telephone harassment and cases where immediate follow-up investigation is not necessary. This program provides the citizen the opportunity to talk directly to a law enforcement officer to evaluate the circumstances of the incident. The deputy may collect necessary, information from the caller to generate an offense report over the telephone and provide a case number or when necessary have the Communications Division dispatch a deputy to their location. This pilot program will be initiated on April 4 with reports being taken by telephone, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. For more information, call 281-376-3472.
