| Mother’s Day at the Market set for May 8 |
|
Mother’s Day at the Market will offer mothers and their families a full afternoon of food and music in Magnolia on Sunday, May 8. Beginning at noon the Magnolia Farmers Market, Sweet Magnolia Pickins, located at the intersection of FM 1488 and FM 1774 in Magnolia, will open with Mexican food plates provided by Blue Iguana.
“We will have picnic tables set up for people to enjoy,” Boo Henderson, manager of Sweet Magnolia Pickins, said. “It should be a beautiful day and a great event for all the moms.”
Music is slated for the afternoon as well, with local groups and bands. In addition, Mother’s Day is a traditional time to honor mothers with flowers and the Magnolia Farmers Market will offer an array of flowers and plants by local area grower, Spring Orchids.
Along with the expanded offerings for Mother’s Day at the Market, Sweet Magnolia Pickins’ regular vendors will be on hand with handmade soaps, homemade tamales, fresh eggs, organic meats, Texas olive oil and more. Chévres, dips, humus and other foods may be tasted on site, and frozen gourmet quiches will be available for sale to take home.
