Tomball ISD receives ‘AA’ financial rating

Fitch Ratings in New York has recently reaffirmed Tomball ISD’s AA financial rating. The rating was based on the district’s continued efforts to merge expenditures and maintain solid financial reserves. The AA rating improves the competitive sale of the district’s school bonds, which finance construction projects. This also provides the district with a lower interest rate when repaying bonds.

“Through the years, we have focused on strong fiscal management and remained committed to the financial stability of our school district,” Superintendent John Neubauer said.

Fitch Ratings is an international corporation that provides credit information and bond ratings to investors about companies and organizations nationwide. This recognition will reassure investors as they consider purchasing school bonds from Tomball ISD.

Not only does Tomball ISD hold an AA rating with Fitch Ratings, but it also holds a AA rating with Standard & Poor’s.

“I commend our tenured management team for their commitment to preserving the financial integrity of our school district,” Neubauer said. “We develop progressive programs and initiatives for the classroom, but we make wise choices when it comes to spending. These choices have resulted in two prestigious ratings from respected financial institutions. I am proud of this accomplishment.”
