Magnolia man opens fire on teen intruders

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 30800 block of Meadow Wood Drive in the Magnolia area at about 3:20 a.m. on June 20.

Deputies met with a homeowner who reported that he was awaken by the sound of breaking glass and a kicking noise against an exterior door. The homeowner armed himself with a shotgun and opened the door.

The homeowner saw a suspect in the yard. The suspect turned and was coming toward the homeowner. The homeowner fired his shotgun toward the suspect who then got into a vehicle and fled. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by other people.

The homeowner’s wife called police and gave the Sheriff’s Office dispatchers a description of the car, a white Cadillac with chrome wheels. Deputies spotted the vehicle on SH 249 and stopped the vehicle. Inside the vehicle deputies found a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg and three other teens ages 18, 17 and 16.

The 16-year-old shooting victim was taken to a local hospital where he was admitted.

No charges have been filed pending the completion of the detectives’ investigation. No charges are anticipated against the homeowner, the Sheriff’s Office stated.

The homeowner discovered that two tires on his vehicle had been punctured.
