| Tomball social media sites go live |
|
As a part of its new marketing program to lure tourists, the City of Tomball has gone live with three new social media projects. The new “Tomball, Texas” Facebook page will provide regular updates to potential visitors and local residents on the many things to see and do in Tomball and nearby communities. From downtown eateries and shopping for one-of-a-kind collectibles, to live music, fashion, art and festivals, the new site will be a tourism-specific source of information. More than 130 photo images from the City are already posted at the photo sharing site Flickr.com. Images representing historic Tomball, shopping, the Farmer’s Market, restaurants and more are available for viewing by the web-surfing public. Three videos are now posted at the new Tomball site on YouTube.com. The initial presentations representing antiquing, the Farmer’s Market and historical attractions such as the museum district and restored depot, all carry the header, “Tomball. Texan for Fun!” Others will soon follow targeting nature tourists, festival-goers and followers of live music. The increased use of social media to promote the City of Tomball to potential guests within its core and outer markets is only a portion of the new projects in development. Additional programs include the creation of signature, city-owned festivals and events, increased participation in state-wide tourism organizations and brand-based advertising and promotion.
