Become a networking master at Tomball Chamber luncheon

first friday My Referral Network President Mitchell From will offer “How to Become a Master Networker,” at the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) First Friday Networking Luncheon, Aug. 5. My Referral Network is a networking organization that educates.

“We teach business professionals how to be more effective and provide a warm, inviting, comfortable environment to create connections and relationships as well as to give and receive referrals,” From said.

From is on a mission to provide people with the day-to-day skills and a networking plan. Through personal development, trial and error and a commitment to networking, From founded My Referral Network. No stranger to information technology, From was the director of IT for an international oil and gas company in corporate America. He left Corporate America to start his own IT services firm, working with small to mid-size businesses.

From was introduced to networking while building his IT company and says, he did it all wrong.  After joining networking groups and local chambers of commerce he was still not able to generate referrals from networking. Between paying his own way through a Dale Carnegie training and working for a network marketing company, he learned the skills he was seeking to be successful.

As From was building his current business, he began developing a system that now delivers more than 90 percent of its clients through networking and referrals.  It is this system that From will share at the GTACC First Friday Networking Luncheon.

Also at the luncheon, Tomball High School head football Coach Tommy Kaiser will preview the upcoming 2011 THS football season.

The GTACC First Friday Networking Luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 715 E. Carrell St. in Tomball.
