| Kohl’s bringing new jobs to Tomball |

While much of the nation struggles to find work, Tomball is adding about 130 new jobs, with the construction of a new Kohl’s department store. The retail outlet is set to open its doors on SH 249 Sept. 25. “Kohl’s is making (a large economic impact) by bringing approximately 130 new jobs to the Tomball area,” said spokeswoman Erin Kelbe. “Stores nationwide and Kohls.com help shoppers maximize their savings with quality, world-class brands at a value they can appreciate.” While the Tomball area currently has a Kohl’s location on Spring Cypress Road, the new store will actually be located within the city limits of Tomball. Kelbe says that Kohl’s wants to be supportive of the community and has enacted several corporate programs that it believes could help Tomball residents. “At Kohl’s it’s about living in and giving back to your community,” said Kelbe. “(We) strive to be an active member in the cities and towns where we do business.” That includes various charitable giving and volunteer programs, Kelbe mentioned. Kohl’s carries brands which include Simply Vera by Vera Wang, Tony Hawk, ELLE Décor and Bobby Flay.
