Tomball Second Saturday to honor 9/11

September’s Second Saturday at the Depot in Tomball will be a remembrance to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedies in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.

 

According to Rosalie Dillon, Community Events Coordinator for the City of Tomball, the nations colors will be presented by the Tomball High School Navy JROTC and there will be a meet and greet with local police, fire, EMS and public works employees.

 

The local Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) members and members with American Legion Post 127 will also be on hand. Concessions will be available and a petting zoo will be on site for children, as well as crafts, games and jump rope. This month’s movie is Toy Story 3.

 

Music will be provided by the Statesmen Chorus and there will be thank you cards to sign and send to the troops overseas.

 

The VFW will provide a special breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon on Sun., Sept. 11 as well.
