Applications for the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce 2012 Miss Tomball Pageant are now available at the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, 29201 Quinn Rd., Ste. B. The pageant will celebrate 46 years on Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Salem Lutheran Church worship center — a highly acclaimed performance venue in Tomball.

“Since moving the pageant to Salem Lutheran Church in 2009, it has become a stunning visual presentation,” Miss Tomball Chairwoman Sandy Krug said. “We are excited to return to the worship center where the sound and lighting are on par with most Houston area theaters.”

To be eligible to compete in the 2012 Miss Tomball Pageant, applicants must reside in the Tomball Independent School District, have a physical Tomball home address or be home-schooled or enrolled in a public or private school with a Tomball address and classified as a junior or senior; and no younger than 15 and no older than 19 years of age. Each applicant is required to have a business sponsor. Sponsorships are $350. Sponsors belonging to the Chamber receive a $100 discount.

“I encourage any young lady who meets the requirements to enter. Rehearsals before the pageant promote camaraderie and self-assurance. It is a wonderful experience before going off to college or pursuing a career,” Krug said.

On pageant day, contestants will participate in the Tomball Holiday Parade. At the pageant, contestants will be introduced on stage, presented in evening attire and will be judged on the basis of poise, personality and beauty. The new Miss Tomball and four finalists will be awarded trophies in addition to other prizes and gifts.
