Tomball Art Walk and jazz concert scheduled for Sept. 17

Two dozen downtown shops and restaurants are set to take part in the first ever Art Walk, Tomball on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Beginning at 2 p.m., Art Walk, Tomball will fill the historic downtown and Depot areas with artists selling and exhibiting their original works in metal, oil and acrylic, ink, clay, wood, and more.

Painters such as Deborah Hill and Janis Burkhardt, potter Sande Larson and photographer Marguerite Baldwin will be among the more than 30 showing their works in shops, along the sidewalk and beneath the shade of giant trees throughout historic downtown.

Complimentary wine, cheese, sample-sized desserts and more will be offered to patrons as they browse from shop to shop and artist to artist throughout the afternoon.

Later in the day a free Jazz concert featuring the Gary Michael Dahl Band will fill the Depot Plaza from 5 to 7:30 p.m.  Jazz lovers are encouraged to come on down and bring their lawn chairs and blankets for an evening of cool music.

Food from Tomball’s new Cisco’s Salsa Company and beverages from Main Street Crossing will be available for purchase throughout the performance.

On the day of the event, Art Walk, Tomball route maps will be available at the restored Depot on Market  Street at S. Elm Street and at participating shops along the Walk.

Art Walk, Tomball will be a regular event this fall with additional “Walks” scheduled for October 15th and November 19th.  New artists, new musical performances and new shops will be presented in the coming months.
