The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its 2011 Citizen of the Year award. Candidates desired are community leaders whose volunteer contributions have significantly benefited the greater Tomball area. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 5.

Each year, the Chamber recognizes an individual for his or her outstanding service to the community and announces the recipient of the award at the Annual Chairman’s Ball, which will be in January 2012.

To be considered for the award, candidates must live or work in the greater Tomball area and their contribution to the community should be in civic, community, professional service, church involvement and/or service to the Chamber of Commerce or other organizations.
