Local churches present ‘The Many Moods of Christmas’

Rose Hill United Methodist Church Chancel Choir will team up with the adult choir of Magnolia United Methodist Church to present “The Many Moods of Christmas,” arranged by Robert Shaw and Russell Bennett. The performance will take place at the Rose Hill United Methodist Church Faith Center Sanctuary on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. and at Magnolia United Methodist Church Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. The event will also feature the high school choir from Rosehill Christian School as guest singers.

“Rose Hill United Methodist Church is excited to present its annual Christmas Cantata to the Tomball, Magnolia, Waller, Cypress and other surrounding communities for the first time in this collaborative effort,” Rose Hill United Methodist Church music director Johnny Nichols Jr. said. “Although the theme for this year’s Cantata is focused on the birth of Christ, the overall mission for this event is to “together, provide an opportunity for Magnolia United Methodist Church, Rose Hill United Methodist Church and Rosehill Christian (School) to reach out and serve the community with an awesome seasonal ministry through music.”

Under the direction of Emma Lake, music director of Magnolia United Methodist Church and Nichols, this event will be filled with music that will evoke the many moods of the season and coupled with moments of scripture that tells the story of the immaculate conception and the birth of Jesus.

“The Many Moods of Christmas” will be presented twice with orchestral accompaniment. Admission is free to the public and refreshments will be served after the performance. For more information, visit www.rosehillumc.org or www.magnoliaumc.org.
