Man crashes motorcycle after Waller police give chase

waller crash A man on a motorcycle led Waller police, Harris County deputies, Houston police and state troopers on a high speed chase through western Harris County before crashing Jan. 3, Waller police said.

The man, who police have not yet identified, ran, after a Waller police officer pulled him over on FM 2920 at 10:30 p.m.

“When the officer asked for his drivers license, the motorcycle began to leave the scene, ignoring the officer’s orders to stop,” a Waller Police Department (WPD) statement said. “The officer followed the motorcycle as it entered Hwy. 290 towards Houston to the 610 Loop South and finally Hwy. 59 entering Ft. Bend County near Sugarland.”

Police say the motorcycle hit speeds of at least 130 miles per hour, before it crashed on the Williams Way exit ramp of Hwy. 59 southbound.

The biker was transported by helicopter to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston and a WPD spokeswoman said that officers found numerous stolen credit cards, drugs and a loaded handgun at the crash scene.

The biker has not been named by police and has not been charged as of press time. His medical condition was unknown.
