| New CEO named at Tomball Regional Medical Center |

Tomball Regional Medical Center (TRMC) recently announced that Bud Wethington has been named as the new chief executive officer. His new position will start effective Feb. 1. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join the dedicated employees, medical staff and volunteers at TRMC,” Wethington said in a statement. “I look forward to building on their many accomplishments and being a part of the future success of the hospital, as well as an integral part of the community.” According to officials at TRMC, Wethington will bring more than 28 years of healthcare and management experience to the hospital. Most recently, he served as president and chief executive officer at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla. Officials say that Wethington was able to expanded hospital services, including a new pediatric emergency department and breast care center, as well as recruiting new doctors and increasing patient satisfaction. “Bud is an accomplished healthcare leader and we are pleased to welcome him to TRMC,” TRMC interim CEO Keith Barber said. “His management expertise, track-record of success and sincere desire to work with our board of trustees, medical staff and employees will enable us to build on TRMC’s positive momentum.” Prior to serving at Captial Regional, Wethington was the CEO of Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Ga. He has also held executive leadership positions as a chief operating officer and chief financial officer at facilities in Florida and Texas. Wethington has also held several civic and community posts including as a board member of the Tallahassee Economic Development Council, Tallahassee and Gadsden Chambers of Commerce, Healthcare Coalition of Gadsden County and as the Chairman of the American Heart Association’s Tallahassee Heart Walk.
