Salem Lutheran Completes 23rd mission to Honduras

SalemMission Salem Lutheran Church of Tomball recently concluded its 23rd mission to Honduras. This mission team of 33 “part-time missionaries” served more than 3,500 of the people who live in and around the area of Santa Rosa de Copan, in western Honduras. Salem’s mission organization, Heart for Honduras, has been conducting dental, medical, vision, and well-drilling missions for the past 23 years.

The Heart for Honduras water well team has partnered with Open Door Ministry, a 100-bed facility for orphans in Honduras to provide clean, safe drinking water. The facility currently receives less than five gallons per day of contaminated and undrinkable water through the village’s piping system.

Heart for Honduras is a mission organization started in 1996. Two mission trips per year are conducted to Honduras.

The evangelistic mission teams plan to return to Honduras in the fall with its 24th team on Sept. 24.  Teams consist of professional and non-professional members from across the nation. For more information on the work in this region or for a mission application, contact Cheryl Kroll, Missions Assistant, at 281-290-1212. You may also visit heartforhonduras.org.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
