Teens get behind the scenes with Tomball Youth Police Academy

The Tomball Police Department will host the 2009 Youth Police Academy June 8 through June 12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a graduation ceremony on June 12.

The Academy training will be conducted at the Tomball Police Department and is open to Tomball High School and Concordia Lutheran High School students currently enrolled in ninth through 12th grades.

Academy cadets will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on instruction of a multitude of law enforcement practices such as crime scene investigation, patrol tactics, officer safety tactics, DWI investigations and building searches.

There is no cost associated with the Academy and deadline for registration is May 29.
