| Magnolia Rotary honored by council for clean-up project |
|
At left, members of the Magnolia Rotary Club were honored at the May 12 Magnolia City Council meeting for their efforts in a recent clean-up project.
The property is owned by an elderly widow who did not have the means or ability to clean up debris that had accumulated over a period of years.
Speaking on behalf of the Rotary Club, treasurer Glenn Addison told the council that the project, valued at more than $10,000, “would not have been possible” without the generous donations of goods and services by several members and companies in the Magnolia community.
The Rotary Club also offered to assist in future clean-up projects in the city in cases where individuals are unable due to health reason to keep their property in compliance with city ordinances and codes.
