| Councilwoman Williams elected Mayor Pro Tem |
|
Magnolia City Councilwoman Patsy Williams was elected Mayor Pro Tem June 9 at the monthly City Council meeting.
Williams, who has served on the Council since 1992, will serve as Mayor Pro Tem from June 2009 to June 2010.
She has served as Mayor Pro Tem from 1994 to 1995, 2001 to 2004 and 2005 to 2007.
The duties of a Mayor Pro Tem include serving as a substitute for the mayor.
“In the absence of the mayor I would sit in and run the (city council) meeting,” said Williams. “I feel very privileged that they elected me to do that.”
She also added that if the mayor is unable to attend an event, she would fill in for him. Williams has been a resident of Magnolia since 1955.
