| WISD achieves milestone with 2009 TEA Accountability Ratings |
|
At left, students at WISD helped ensure that the district schools earned three Exemplary ratings and two Recognized ratings in an annual report recently released by the Texas Education Agency. Waller ISD received “Exemplary” on 17 out of 25 indicators, “Recognized” on seven of the 25 indicators, and “Academically Acceptable” on one of the 25 indicators. According to Public Information Director Marianne Kosik, the scores are the highest scores in Waller ISD’s history.
Three Waller ISD elementary schools were rated “Exemplary,” H.T. Jones Elementary, Roberts Road Elementary and Fields Store Elementary. Two schools were rated “Recognized,” Wayne C. Schultz Middle School and I.T. Holleman Elementary. Two campuses were rated “Academically Acceptable,” Waller Junior High and Waller High School. Waller Junior High and Waller High School were “on the bubble” of a “Recognized” school accountability rating, Kosik said.
“Waller ISD will continue to aim for excellence by aiming to be a Recognized school district, and for every campus to be rated Recognized or Exemplary,” McReavy said. “Waller ISD wants every child to be successful, and we will continue to perform higher each year.”
