Tomball PD’s Blue Santa program to return in 2009

The Tomball Police Department’s Blue Santa will be making special visits to Tomball Regional Hospital, area assisted living facilities and retirement communities. For the sixth year in a row, Blue Santa hopes to make the holiday season extra special for those who may be staying in their “home away from home.”

These small acts of kindness bring smiles to the faces of children, adult patients and seniors, letting them know that their community cares about them. Blue Santa and his elves, members of the Tomball Police Department, the Tomball VIP’s (Volunteers in Police Service) and Tomball Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association will come bearing special gifts and holiday wishes.

Anyone who would like to help Blue Santa and his elves, their donations of new stuffed animals, or monetary contributions are appreciated. The stuffed animal collection point is located at the Tomball Police Department, 400 Fannin St.  The deadline to make a donation is Dec. 1.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
