The fifth 10-day African mission trip coordinated by Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball concluded Nov. 22 and included 48 volunteers from Salem, Trinity Lutheran Church in Klein, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin and three other church groups. Centered in Nairobi, Kenya, the volunteers, divided into six teams, treated and witnessed to 11,884 Kenyan patients during their visit there.

Above, members of Salem Lutheran Church and other area churches recently made a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya.

They visited one clinic in Nairobi and five others located in cities and rural areas. Eyeglasses, vision exams and dental work were offered, but the focus of the trip was to take the message of Christ.

Two future trips have already been planned for May 6-16 and Nov. 11-21, 2010. The missions are coordinated by Salem Lutheran Church, but should be seen as a community activity and open to those in the area who would like to participate. For more information, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
