| Magnolia YMCA names local educator volunteer of the year |
|
McNulty was presented with her award at the YMCA of Greater Houston’s Annual Celebration earlier this year at Rice University’s Faculty Club. She joined 36 others, each representing an individual YMCA center, camp or special program. McNulty is an active volunteer and proud supporter of the YMCA. She has served the Magnolia YMCA as a board member for the last four years. Sharing her love of sports and coach experience, she organizes and facilitates YMCA volleyball clinics for school-age children annually in the month of February. All money raised is donated back to the YMCA Partners Program to ensure the YMCA is available to all regardless of financial resources. A life long resident of Magnolia, McNulty is known for her support of youth in the community having served the Magnolia ISD for 28 years as teacher, mentor and coach. “When I do volunteer work in the community, no matter what organization it is with, I always get back more than I give,” said McNulty. “Being recognized as the YMCA Volunteer of the Year was a very humbling and wonderful experience, especially since we have so many in the YMCA who are very deserving of this award.” For more information, call 713-659-5566 or visit www.ymcahouston.org.
