Chamber tourney’s golf ball drop offers chance at prizes

ball drop You don’t have to play golf to play the numbers in the upcoming Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic Golf Ball Drop, scheduled for March 11 at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club. This annual tradition offers everyone a chance at winning one of several great prizes from the Spring Cypress Wal-Mart on Tomball Parkway.

On the day of the 32nd Annual Golf Classic, Helicopter Services of Houston will drop numbered golf balls onto the High Meadow Ranch course and the ball landing closest to the designated hole, or in it, wins the grand prize. Second and third place winners will also receive prizes.

“Even if golf is not your game, you can still join in the fun by purchasing a ball for $5 or five balls for $20 and participate in the Golf Ball Drop,” Golf Classic Chairman Craig Bogner said. “It’s a great way to enjoy the day.”

There are several ways to participate in the Chamber’s annual Golf Classic, including sponsorships, multiple levels of golfer packages, tent sponsorships, as an auction donor or with a door prize donation.

Individual players may register online at TomballChamber.org or at the Chamber offices located at 29201 Quinn Road. Individual registration is $150 and includes range balls, breakfast, lunch, dinner and a goodie bag. The registration fee for teams of four is $600. Willie’s Grill will provide lunch and Mel’s Country Café will serve dinner.

Shotgun start is at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There is still time to sign on as a sponsor and the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting door prize donations. For more information about registration or sponsorships, call the Chamber office 281-351-7222.
