City of Tomball joins with Gulf Coast region for Warrant Round-up

The City of Tomball Police Department will be among more than 300 law enforcement jurisdictions across Texas participating in the 2010 Great Texas Warrant Round-up, which begins Saturday, March 6. The Tomball PD will join nearly 70 other regional participants in this statewide annual event targeting those who have outstanding warrants with respective Municipal Courts.

The City of Tomball Municipal Court alone has thousands of active warrants it is seeking to clear.

Municipal Court officials are encouraging defendants to take advantage of one of the options available to settle outstanding warrants. However, no amnesty is being offered in conjunction with the Round-up effort.

“We offered amnesty last spring which some defendants took advantage of and paid out their cases. Yet many others did not and as a result, still have active cases that can cause them to be arrested,”  Warrant Officer Frank Mitchell said.

Once the warrant period begins March 6, Tomball PD officers will target those on the warrant list and arrests can take place at any location, including the defendant’s home, school, or workplace.

“We are notifying defendants that there are numerous options available to assist them in quickly and conveniently taking care of their outstanding warrants without being arrested,” Mitchell said.

Notices are being mailed to defendants with active warrants pending against them. Due to a high number of outstanding warrants, some may not receive notice, but may contact the Court for information.

For more information of warrants or citations, contact the City’s Municipal Court at 281-351-7894 or

281-290-1013, between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and between 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday.
