Lone Star College System announces earlier registration for fall

Lone Star College System officials announced last week that registration for the fall 2010 semester begins on April 1, three weeks sooner than what had been originally scheduled this year.

The April 1 registration date, which was moved up from April 21, will allow current and potential students more time to sign-up for their fall semester classes. Classes for the fall semester begin Monday, Aug. 30 and students may register up until Aug. 28, the Saturday before.

“We really wanted to advance this date as a service to our students,” said Linda Luehrs Wolfe, associate vice chancellor of curriculum and instruction. “We felt like this would give students more time to get registered for their fall classes, before they leave for the summer term.”

There are several options for easy registration – online registration, via MyRecords, is available daily except between hours of 2 and 3:30 a.m. Students may register or change their schedules in MyRecords until the first day that classes begin. In addition, telephone registration is available daily except between the hours of 1:45 and 3:45 a.m. To access this telephone system, student must use a touch-tone phone and have the registration number for each of the classes. The telephone registration number is 281-591-6625.

“We are hopeful that this additional registration time for the fall will help students access the classes and schedule that are most convenient to them and to avoid any last-minute rush,” said Luehrs Wolfe.

Students may get more information by going to LoneStar.edu/registration or by visiting the admissions office at the college that they attend.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface.
