Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I was going west on FM 2920 to buy some items at Lowe’s. Traffic was pretty heavy, but moving along at a good speed. The light at SH 249 changed and I was faced with the choice of hitting the brakes and maybe having the person behind me run into me, or to go on through with plenty of safety margin.

I went through and some days later got an extortion letter from the Tomball Police Department for $75.

The only way I can fight this extortion is to stop shopping in Tomball. So, goodbye to Lowe’s, Applebee’s, Blockbuster, Tractor Supply, Allstate and Compass Bank. Wow, I spent a lot of money in Tomball H.E.B, Walmart, Chili’s, Kroger, Snowflake, Rancho Grande, $1.09 Store and others.

I’ll still carefully drive on your streets and use your infrastructure, but won’t spend money there. I hope other victims will react the same way.

My lawyer says not to pay the fine and ignore the collection agency letters.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
