Tomball ISD has announced the retirement of Athletic Director Bob Fontenot, as well as his replacement, who will take over the job in December.

Fontenot began his 37-year career in education in Tomball ISD as a physical education teacher and coach. Over the years, he assumed various positions including assistant principal at Tomball Elementary, Beckendorf Intermediate and Tomball High School. He also served as principal at Lakewood, Decker Prairie and Tomball Elementary Schools before becoming the district’s Athletic Director in 2001. Fontenot plans to retire in December 2010.

Taking over for Fontenot will be Ronny Peacock. Peacock (left) has worked for the University of Houston, as well as Spring, Klein, Willis and Cy-Fair ISDs. He has also served as the Athletic Director of Conroe ISD since 2007. Peacock received both his bachelor’s of science and master’s of education from the University of Houston. Peacock will work Fontenot until his retirement later this year.
