Lady Mustangs win first softball tourney

MWHSSoftball The Magnolia West Lady Mustang softball team took the first tournament championship in the program’s history after recently winning the Schulenburg Tournament. The Lady Mustangs earned wins over Bryan, Poth, Columbus and Schulenburg on their way to the championship. Taylor Yancey was the winning pitcher in all three games and she, along with Kaylee Kucharski, Heather Peacock, Shelby Jo Weldon and Chelsea Lemons garnered All-Tournament Team honors. Cyndee Sanders won MVP of tournament after going 8-for-12 with four RBIs and four runs scored. Pictured, the Magnolia West Lady Bulldogs celebrate their title.
