WHS Bulldogs fall short to Foster Falcons

trent rape The Waller Bulldog football team fell just short of the Foster Falcons, 20-13 on Sept. 17.  The loss drops Waller to 1-2 on the season.

 

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs played a much more consistent game offensively than in previous weeks. 

 

The quarterback tandem of Deandre Bell and H’Dari Hayes continued to lead the offense which put up better numbers against a stout Foster defense.  Bell rushed 13 times for 91 yards, while Hayes was 9-of-18 for 78 yards and had two scrambles for 17 yards. 

 

The Bulldogs had 192 yards rushing and 79 yards passing.  Bell scored both touchdowns. David McDade carried the ball 17 times for 81 yards.  The Bulldog offensive line was able to open running lanes and provide solid pass protection for the Bulldogs.

 

Defensively, Jordan Hamilton, Jacobie White, Trent Rape and Nick Stubblefield anchored the front line and all collected sacks. For his efforts, Rape earned Defensive Player of the Week for the Bulldogs. The Bulldog defense held Foster to 185 total yards and only six first downs throughout the ballgame.
