Cougar football players receive academic honors

The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) announced the Class 5A THSCA Academic All-State football team for the 2010-11 year. The teams are selected by a point system that awards points for GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT scores. The student athletes are then placed on teams according to the number of points they have earned. The following Tomball High School seniors were named to the Academic All-State team: Alex Clark, Elite Team; Sean Fry, First Team; Dillon Duarte, Second Team; Garrett Mears, Second Team; Alex Mears, Honorable Mention; Caleb Robinson, Honorable Mention and Hunter Thompson, Honorable Mention.
