| Former Cougar pole vaulter Bentley among best at national college meet |

Bentley started the competition by clearing his first two heights of 5.05 meters (16’7”) and 5.15 meters (16’11”) on his first attempts. With no misses, Bentley was in first place and only two other vaulters advanced to 5.25 meters (17’3”). Only one vaulter from Jamaica cleared the height on his last attempt. Bentley is in his last year of competition at UH and has recovered from an injury to his left ankle. He has already jumped a Regional qualifying height of 16’6” and if he clears 17’3,” he will qualify for Nationals in both indoor and outdoor.
