WHS soccer wins district title

whs soccer The Waller Bulldog boys’ soccer team recently wrapped up its regular season play as co-district champions, sharing the title with the Brenham Cubs. Both teams finished district play with 27 points and losing one game to each other.

 

The Bulldogs have been led by senior midfielder Jose Perez (pictured), the team’s captain who has broken the Waller school record for goals in a single season with 35 so far.

 

The Bulldogs next step will be an appearance in the state playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. In two of those years, they have reached the fourth round and have been one game short of the regional tournament and two games short of the state tournament.

 

The Bulldogs faced the Huntsville Hornets for the Bi-District Championship on March 24, at Hohlt Park on Rankin Field in Brenham, winning 1-0.
