Zero week was anything but a zero for area football teams, as the much anticipated high school football season kicked off during the final weekend in August.
Magnolia, Magnolia West and Concordia offered up victories, while Waller kept pace with El Campo early, before falling in the second half.

Galena Park took a brief 14-7 lead with just over five minutes left in the third, but a long drive that chewed up the remaining third quarter clock ended in a three-yard touchdown run by Chance David.
That would start a run of 21 straight points by the Bulldogs, including an 11-yard touchdown romp from Chase Gragert and a 17-yard dash from Harris.
Galena Park was able to recover a ball in the end zone with just over two minutes remaining to round out the scoring.
