| Concordia, Tomball Christian remain undefeated |

#1 Concordia Lutheran 55 Lutheran South 13 The top-ranked Concordia Lutheran Crusaders rolled off to a quick start and never looked back in destroying Lutheran South 55-13 on Oct. 7. Concordia built a quick 20-0 first quarter lead and added two more scores in the second to take a commanding 34-0 lead into halftime. The Crusaders continued to build on that lead in the third with two more touchdowns, before cruising down the stretch in victory. Quarterback Nathan Potter was a perfect 10-10 passing for 161 yards and three touchdown throws. Chance Gray paced the ground game with 111 yards on just six touches, including one touchdown. Gray added 89 yards on five receptions and two more scores. The win pushed Concordia to a perfect 7-0 mark and the number one ranking in TAPPS Division II, according to maxpreps.com. The Crusaders hosted Pope John XXIII on Oct. 14. Results were not available as of press time. #2 Tomball Christian Warriors 46 Allen Academy 0 The areas other undefeated team remained perfect, as the Tomball Christian Home School Warriors defeated Allen Academy 46-0 on Oct. 7. The game ended in the third quarter due to the six-man football mercy rule. Tomball Christian amassed more than 250 yards on the ground in just over a half of football. David Hiley led the way with 103 yards on eight rushes and three touchdowns, while John Fosdick added 83 yards and two scores. Jake Carr added 68 yards on just one touchdown carry. Mitchell Byrum was 4-8 passing for 89 yards and two touchdowns through the air. The Warriors played NYOS Charter School of Austin on Oct. 14. Results were not available as of press time. Magnolia Bulldogs 10 Stratford 20 A bad third quarter spelled doom for the Magnolia Bulldogs, as they fell 10-20 to Stratford on Oct. 7. Magnolia was the first to break through, as Noah McGowan found a wide-open Jordan Turnbow for a 38-yard touchdown catch-and-run. The extra-point gave the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. Magnolia’s defense held firm throughout the first half, until a late drive by Stratford cut the Bulldog lead to 10-7 at the half. Two touchdown runs by Stratford in the third quarter were set up by Bulldog turnovers, resulting in the final 10-20 score. Chase Gragert was the Bulldogs leading rusher, garnering just 42 yards on 12 carries, as the Bulldogs were held to 146 total yards. The loss dropped Magnolia to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in district play. The Bulldogs faced cross-town rival Magnolia West on Oct. 14. Results were not available as of press time. Tomball Cougars 10 Klein Collins 42 One week after a heartbreaking loss to Spring, the Tomball Cougars previous outing seemed to still affect them, as they were routed by Klein Collins 42-10 on Oct. 7. The Cougars started off on the right foot, as they forced a fumble to open the game, recovering at Klein Collins’ 35 yard line. After a 19-yard pass from quarterback Justin Dvorak to Jameson Johnson, the Cougars drive stalled, forcing them to settle for a 27-yard field goal by Chadd Brown. The game was still somewhat close at halftime, as Tomball only trailed 10-21 going into the locker room. The wheels fell off in the second half, however, as Klein Collins rolled off 21 straight points to take the win. Dvorak was 24-24 with 124 yards and an interception, but did gain 151 yards on the ground, rushing for the lone Cougar touchdown. Johnson added 61 yards on five catches. The loss dropped Tomball to 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in district play. Tomball hosted Dekaney on Oct. 14. Results were not available as of press time. Waller Bulldogs 14 Montgomery 40 The Waller High School Bulldogs fell to 1-2 in district play on Friday night with a 40-14 loss to the Montgomery Bears. The Bulldogs started strong on Friday night, leading 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, until the Bears gained the momentum. Offensively, the Bulldogs had touchdown runs by Rhett Loewe and Desmond Jordan. Jyrin Broussard was the leading rusher for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs offense could not seem to get out of their end zone in the second and third quarters and kept having to punt into a stiff breeze that allowed Montgomery short fields for those two quarters. The Offensive Player of the Week is Rhett Loewe, Defensive Player of the Week is Israel Reyes and the Special Teams Player of the Week is Nick Stubblefield. The Bulldogs played Northbrook on Oct. 14.
