Magnolia advances, Tomball and Tomball Memorial fall in playoffs

The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs moved on to the Area Round of the state volleyball playoffs, while both Tomball and Tomball Memorial experienced heartbreak during the first round.

 

Magnolia Lady Bulldogs

Magnolia defeated Huntsville in three games (25-10, 25-12, 25-14) to advance to the Area Round of the UIL state volleyball playoffs.

 

Kylie Randall once again paced Magnolia with 15 kills, while Shayna Daniels added 22 assists and Alyssa Fulgium contributed 12 assists. Chelsea Reynolds added nine digs and four aces in the win.

 

The Lady Bulldogs advanced to play Little Cypress Mauriceville on Nov. 5. Results were not available as of press time.

 

Tomball Lady Cougars

The Lady Cougars lost a heartbreaker to Atascocita in five games on Nov. 1, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-17, 13-15.

 

Tomball finished the season 31-10 and won the 13-5A District championship.

 

Tomball Memorial Lady Wildcats

The Tomball Memorial lady Wildcats finished a memorable first season of competition in the playoffs, comprised of a team with just sophomores and freshmen.

 

The Lady Wildcats played Caldwell on Nov 1, in the 3A volleyball bi-districts. Tomball Memorial fell 19-25, 25-18, 12-25 and 22-25.
