Two WHS relay teams headed for regionals

The Waller Bulldog varsity boys track and field team competed in the 2009 district championship meet on April 15 and 16. Throughout the meet there were many season and personal bests. For the first time since 2004, the boys not only qualified one relay team for the regional championships but two, including the 4x200 and 4x400. In total, the Bulldogs qualified eight boys for the regional championship meet that will be held at Sam Houston State University on May 1 and 2. The regional qualifiers include Jermaine Davis, who was second in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. The 4x200 meter relay team consisting of Brandon Watson, Rod Hill, D’querius Bullock, Jason Tillis which also finished second, and the 4x400-meter relay team consisting of BJ Kwiatkowski, Rod Hill, Josh Haines, Watson and Dominique Walker finished third. Other top district finishers included the 4x100-meter relay team which finished fourth and consisted of Watson,  Bullock, Rod Hill and Tillis. David McDade was fourth in the triple jump and Josh Haines finished fifth in the same event. Dustin Alexander was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles and Geraud Johnson finished sixth in the discus throw.
