WJH track continues success at district meet

 

wjh track The Waller Junior High eighth grade boys track team picked up where they left off last season and continued their dominance at the district track meet in Magnolia. Even though two large Magnolia schools entered into the district meet, the Waller Bulldogs were undeterred and still managed to put a triple digit lead over the field in the effort.

At left, the Waller Junior High eighth grade boys track won the district title at the district track meet.

 

Individual athletes earning district titles include Devante Dancy in discus, Colten Frisby in pole vault, Jeremy Boone in long jump and triple jump, Jonathan Godoy in the 2,400 and 1,600-meter, Dalton Tullos in 300 and 110-meter hurdles, and Desmond Jordan in the 400-meter.

Also claiming the title of district champions were the 4-by-200-meter relay team of Kyle Spears, James Perry, J’Wuan Ponteau, and Boone and the 4-by-400 relay team of Jordan, Tullos, CJ Holguin, and Boone.

The seventh grade track team ended its season at the district meet as runners-up to Magnolia Junior High. Earning the individual title of district champion were Ryan McAfee in triple jump, Marc Mata in 300-meter hurdles, and Denny Garcia in 1,600-meter.
